Provisional Admission to First Year B.A./B.Sc./B.Com. Three Years (Honours & General) Courses for the session 2015-2016.

Admission is done strictly on the basis of merit.

Important Norms:

  • Candidature of a candidate will be outright cancelled (at any stage) if the data given in on-line application do not match with original testimonials.
  • The candidates are required to bring on the day of counselling the print out of the filled in Application, the Money Receipt and Declaration after affixing recent stamp/passport-size Photograph (self attested) at the specified space in the said print out of the application.
  • Eligibility for application in different subjects and number of subject-wise seats: See website (www maulanaazadcollege.in) or College Notice Board.
  • Admission will be made strictly on the basis of merit and attendance of the candidates in person on the dates & time of the counselling of the respective subjects is mandatory.

How to Apply

Applications for Provisional Admission to the First Year B.A./B.Sc./B.Com Three Years (Honours & General) Courses - 2015 will be received online.

  • Candidature of a candidate will be outright cancelled (at any stage) if the data given in on-line application do not match with original testimonials.
  • The students passing H.S. or its equivalent Examination (Candidates of Vocational & Open School are not allowed) in the year 2014 & 2015 can apply for admission provided other ‘Eligibility Criteria for Application' are fulfilled.
  • A separate application must be submitted for each Honours/General subject.
  • The candidates are required to bring on the day of counselling the Print out of the filled in Application Form and Money Receipt & Declaration after affixing recent stamp/passport-size Photograph (self attested) at the specified space in the said print out of the application.
  • Application Fees: Rs. 70.00 for each subject applied for.
  • Last date of submission of application fee to Indian Bank is on 17.06.2015 (4.00 p.m.)
  • Receiving of application fees at any branch of Indian Bank (After online submission of application and on producing the obtained print out of Money Receipt): From 02.06.2015 to 17.06.2015 (Mon-Friday: 10.30 a.m. to 4.00 p.m. & Saturday: 10.30 a.m. to 1.00 p.m.)(Except Sunday and Holiday)
  • on producing the Print out of the Money Receipt in triplicate generated during online-submission and the candidates copy of Money Receipt are to be endorsed by bank at the time of submission of the Application Fees. Candidates with endorsed Money Receipt will only be considered in the Admission Process.
  • A candidate who has passed H.S. or equivalent Examination, 2014 & 2015 (Candidates of Vocational & Open School are not allowed) with minimum Five approved subjects (each of 100 as Full Marks and prescribed pass marks) of which at least one is English Language shall be eligible to apply for admission.
  • Admission will be made strictly on basis of Merit and Attendance of the Candidate on the date and time of the Counselling of the respective subject is mandatory.
  • In case of eligibility of candidates, seeking admission on migration, regarding equivalence of which there is no explicit decision of the University of Calcutta, or with a subject in accordance with the provision of the University of Calcutta Regulation, specific permission must be obtained from The Secretary, U.G. Council, University of Calcutta before their admission. Such students will not be admitted unless they are formally permitted by the University of Calcutta to pursue their studies in this college.
  • Those who passed the H.S. or equivalent Examination prior to 2014 are not eligible to apply for admission to First Year B.A. /B.Sc./B.Com. Courses for the session 2015-2016.
  • Beware of any Tout or other Agents. For any information regarding admission contact College office / Admission Committee only. Any sort of cash should be deposited at Bank only. Interference of any third party is not allowed.

Admission Procedure:

1. Merit lists of qualified candidates will be published in the following two segments

  • First list consists of number of candidates approximately 5 times of the No. of Seats in each respective Honours & General subject.
  • A complete list includes all the eligible candidates.
  • Candidates from First List will be called on Counselling & considered for provisional admission according to their position in the merit list.
  • 2. The candidates qualified for admission from First List only will have to report for admission to the Board of Counselor at the College Hall (Ground Floor) as per the above schedule, failing which the candidature will be deemed cancelled. No further claim in this regard will be considered under any circumstances.

    Final list of selected candidates will be recommended for admission after counselling/considering the choices of the candidates reported for admission.

  • If seats remain vacant after 1st Counselling, candidates with ranks immediately next to the rank of the last admitted candidate in each subject will be called for the 2nd Phase of Counselling and provisional admission. Details will be notified after 1st Counselling.
  • 3. REPORTING FOR ADMISSION WILL INVOLVE FOLLOWING STEPS.

  • The candidate will have to present himself / herself at the College Hall (Ground Floor) at the time of reporting.
  • Candidates securing position in the First Lists of the several subjects should seek admission in the subject of his/her choice and report for only one subject accordingly.
  • 4. Any further instructions related to admission will be given at the time of reporting/counselling.

    Documents required at the time of Admission:

  • (i) Hardcopy (Printout) of properly filled-in application form.
  • (ii) Original and one unattested photocopy of Mark-sheet of Higher Secondary Examination or its equivalent.
  • (iii) Original Age-proof (Admit card / equivalent certificates).
  • (iv) Family Income certificate from competent authority in original.
  • (v) Original Bank-endorsed Money Receipt.
  • (vi) Three stamp-sized coloured recent photos.
  • (vii) Original caste certificate for S.C. / S.T. / OBC (from appropriate authority)

  • Notes: Anti-ragging declaration, in the UGC-prescribed format to be furnished by the provisionally admitted students at the time of Registration.
