Maulana Azad College has formed a Green Club under its NSS Unit to raise environmental awareness and promote sustainable practices among students.

Motto: Save nature for a better future

Aims

The Green Club aims to conserve natural resources, foster an eco-friendly campus, and raise awareness about biodiversity, local environmental issues, and sustainability.

Objectives

  • Conserve biodiversity.
  • Promote waste management, composting, and sustainable resource use.
  • Encourage recycling of single-use plastics.
  • Develop environmental conservation skills.
  • Revive traditional practices like organic farming, rainwater harvesting, and renewable energy use.

Activities

  • Organize tree planting, cleanliness drives, and environmental awareness campaigns.
  • Train volunteers in gardening and vermicomposting.
  • Host seminars, debates, and campaigns against plastic bags, loudspeakers, and fireworks.
  • Beautify the area outside campus with plants and awareness boards.
  • Observe key environmental days.

Recent Initiatives

The club has planted and labelled trees, promoted plastic recycling, and managed organic waste composting on campus.
